This page explains how to request deletion of your BxConnect account, what happens after you request it, what data is deleted, and what data is retained. It applies to accounts created in the BxConnect mobile app or web app.
How to Request Deletion
There are two ways to request deletion of your account. You do not need to have the app installed to make a request.
What Happens When You Request Deletion
- Access ends immediately. Your account access ends immediately when your deletion request is accepted, and you are signed out everywhere.
- 30-day grace period. A 30-day grace period follows your request. During this window you can still cancel the deletion (see below).
- Deletion. Your data is deleted from our production systems after the grace period ends — typically within one day of it ending.
- Backups. Backup copies of your data are automatically removed from our backup systems within 7 days after deletion from production systems.
- Your request ID. When your deletion is scheduled, you are shown a request ID and the scheduled deletion date. Save the request ID — you will need it if you want to cancel.
What Is Deleted, and What Is Retained
- Personal and home accounts: your account, all patients, and all data are permanently deleted.
- Clinic and school accounts: your login, contact details, and profile are deleted. Clinical records you authored — including your name as their author — are retained by your organization as part of its patient records, as healthcare record-keeping requires.
Changing Your Mind (Canceling a Deletion Request)
- To cancel, contact support@bxconnect.net from the email address registered to your account before the cancellation deadline: 5 days before your scheduled deletion date. Quote your request ID.
- Cancellation requests are processed within 2 business days of receipt.
- Canceling a deletion request does not restore a canceled subscription. If your subscription was canceled when you requested deletion, resubscribe in Billing after your account is restored.
